Growing up in the south Bronx, the birthplace of hip-hop, Jar has found major influences in music which inspire her work today. Throughout her life she found solace in listening to groups such as The Fugees and Wu-Tang Clan. Being a person of color in New York City, Jar has been submerged in a world rich of culture. Surrounded by graffiti artists, DJs, and musicians, Jar strives to pay homage to the importance of music while simultaneously shining light on the beauty that is New York City.
